Line Procedures (Manual of Policy and Procedure)
- Search and Seizure reference material (books,
pamphlets, etc.), or any other reference material recommended by Training
Officer (please ask him/her which ones)
- A large 3 ring binder to hold copies of your daily
logs, tickets issued, reports written (before and after the Sgt. approves
them), commendations, trainee tests, and your monthly evaluations
- Posse box, plastic container for extra report forms,
and a dictionary (book or electronic)
- Miscellaneous supplies --- such as, large paper clips,
large (8 ½ " x 11") manila envelops with metal claps, large clear
plastic sleeves that will fit in a 3-ring binder, High-lighter felt pens,
black ink pens & refills, mechanical pencils & refills (0 .7 HB
lead), erasers & refills, a few large metal rings, and some colored or
clear tab 3-hole note book dividers
- Flashlights, extra flashlight bulbs, and extra
batteries for every battery-operated item you carry
- AM/FM radio, 35 mm camera & film(100 ASA/12
exposures), and a tape recorder & extra tapes
- Rubber gloves, water-free hand wash, moist handy-wipes,
paper towels, Band-Aids, disinfectant, and aspirin
- Extra ammo (.38 cal., 9mm, shotgun, rifle slugs) in
individual plastic containers
- Yellow chalk and a 25' or 50' tape measure
- Pad of blank and lined 8"x 11" paper
- Helmet, face shield, flex cuffs, extra handcuffs, and
binoculars
- Two extra key rings containing the keys for every door,
room, or patrol vehicle at your station to which you are expected to have
access
- Your station's R.D. maps, the R.D. maps of the
adjoining Sheriff's stations, and maps that include the surrounding areas
policed by other agencies
