Beware of Phony License Plates

As you can see fraud is evolving to a new level. This picture was taken at a traffic stop. The actual license plate was covered in the interest of privacy, but the numbers were actually quite clear. This is actually a digital photograph over cardboard with some laminate. The license plate is a color copy on cardboard with clear acetate over the top and duct tape on the back. They look very convincing. Be careful.

 

 


Guns Hidden in Video Camera

During a consent search, Officers located a full size "Sharp" personal video recorder on the right rear passenger seat. Upon closer examination, officers were able to remove a fake videocassette, which had been placed into the video camera. Once the videotape was removed, officers discovered a fully loaded "Taurus" 9mm semi-auto handgun.


Tire Gauge Gun

A tire pressure gauge is actually a .22 caliber pistol that will fire a .22 caliber, rim-fire cartridge. It uses a "zipgun" type of action.
